WCSF Game 7, Ducks @Red Wings, 20090514, 4-3 Loss.
This one started out ugly as the Ducks had difficulties in the first period. While down 1-0 after the first period, the game ended up tied around the mid-way point of the final period when Bobby Ryan scored the equalizer. However, we gave up a goal to Detroit with three minutes left and lost the seventh game of the series. Wings move on.
I plan on recapping the post season as soon as I have the time. It may be a while, so please be patient. At least I have the summer to mull over the games but for the most part, I’m very proud of the Ducks for making it this far!
Who would have thought that an eighth seed would take out the Sharks (1st seed) and nearly the Red Wings (2nd seed) in the playoffs? Great job, guys!
Go Ducks in 2009-2010!

WCSF Game 6, Red Wings @Ducks, 20090512, 2-1 Win.
After a scoreless first period, the Ducks scored a couple (Getzlaf and Perry) in the second and kept the Wings with a donut entering the final period of game 6.
In the third, it got scary-ugly when both teams began trading penalties throughout the period. Things settled down with about seven minutes left but Andrew Ebbett got a tripping penalty with just over three minutes left on the clock. Johan Franzen scored on Detroit’s powerplay to cut the Ducks’ lead in half.
The Ducks held them off as time expired and won it! They stay alive and make it to a game 7 decider in Detroit on May 14th!
WCSF Record: Ducks 3, Red Wings 3.

WCSF Game 5, Ducks @Red Wings, 20090510, 4-1 Loss.
Another “Ouch” moment as the Wings took command in all categories in this one. Final score, 4-1.
It’s do-or-die for the Ducks on Tuesday night for game 6…
Go Ducks!
WCSF Record: Ducks 2, Red Wings 3.
